Our mission is to support fair trade by providing steady work and opportunity for our artisan partners. Our profits are immediately reinvested by way of new inventory orders, which in turn create continued work for our team, helping to keep the positive cycle going! By purchasing their handmade items, you and I are now connected to these humble, hardworking people, as our orders allow them to continue earning their livelihood in a dignified, safe environment.

RETURNS & CANCELLATIONS

Due to the unique nature of the goods we offer and our financial commitment to our artisans,  we can not offer refunds, cancellations or exchanges. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Please be mindful  when making a purchase.

The ONLY exception to this policy is if an item purchased directly from our shop is damaged upon receipt, or if there was a processing error. Should that happen, please contact us immediately so we can make it right!
Items purchased through third parties, private sales, or BST groups are excluded and do not qualify for this exception.

ABOUT OUR BAGS

Our bags are individually handcrafted by Mayan artisans. As such, they may show characteristics including uneven stitching, leather markings, double stitching, loose threads, etc., all considered to be hallmarks of indigenous handwork.
NONE OF OUR BAGS ARE “FACTORY PERFECT”. THEY LOOK HANDMADE, BECAUSE THEY INDEED, ARE. COSMETIC BLEMISHES ARE NOT CONSIDERED DEFECTS.
GREAT CARE IS TAKEN TO PRICE OUR BAGS BOTH FAIRLY AND ACCORDINGLY.

CARING FOR YOUR BAG

We make every effort to provide our clients with quality bags. Because we often times use hand woven and upcycled materials, snags and loose threads are common. Should your fabric or huipil snag, you can snip the loose threads with scissors or use a Snag Nabbit tool.
You may decide to use a Fabric Protector on the fabric portion of your bag. When using a fabric protector is it is recommended to apply several coats, allowing each coat to thoroughly dry in order to reduce the risk of color transfer or staining from your clothing. Should color transfer or staining occur, a protector may allow for easier cleanup. We recommend testing your dark clothing for colorfastness by gentle rubbing it with a white cotton cloth. This test may help to  minimize your risk of dye transfer to your light leather or fabric bags.
 You may also wish to use a leather conditioner or spray to protect your leather, although many of our clients prefer to let the oils in their skin break in the leather naturally. We strongly advise doing a test spot on an inconspicuous area of the leather before applying a conditioner or treatment to the entire bag. 
We are not responsible for damage which may occur from the use of conditioners or spray protectants, nor are we liable for damage which may occur from the lack of use of these products.

SHIPPING

Most items are shipped via UPS or USPS.
We now offer international shipping to Canada & Australia. You will receive a tracking number once your order is shipped. Please allow three business days for your order to be processed.
 
If a package is returned to us as undeliverable, we will verify the address and resend it at the buyers expense. 
Should tracking on your package show as delivered, but you have not received your order, please contact your local post office. They are very good at locating missing packages! In the unlikely event they can not find your package, they will assist you in filing an insurance claim.

International shipments may incur import fees as per each country’s policies. These fees are the responsibility of the buyer and are not included in the purchase price.

ABOUT AFTERPAY & SEZZLE

We are pleased to offer short term payment plans through AfterPay and Sezzle!
AfterPay & Sezzle require a 25% payment at purchase, with the remainder automatically billed to your credit or debit card biweekly for 6 weeks. Your order ships to you right away. They are like a mini line of credit, but there are no additional fees, as long as you don’t fall behind on your payments. 

 COLORS & YOUR MONITOR

Computer monitors may display colors a bit differently, and the human eye may perceive these colors differently. While we try to edit our photos to show colors as true as possible, please understand the actual color may vary from what you see on your monitor. Our pictures are taken using flash photography.  If you have concerns, please reach out prior to purchase.
